~*~ Blog Tour ~*~ Finding Perfection (Beautifully Flawed #3) by Cassandra Giovanni

River Ahlers is damaged goods. On the surface she’s a driven businesswoman, leading a new division of the marketing firm she works for. But she knows better than anyone that being driven also tends to drive people away. At twenty-eight she’s made some of the toughest decisions of her life by burying the reason she’s damaged deep inside her. That is until she walks into a tattoo parlor and falls into the arms of someone else just as broken.

West Brighton is bad news. He’s a tattooed rebel with more money than he needs, and so many scars on his heart, he’s sure there’s no way to let someone in. Until River, but she’s still stuck on her ex and his friend — Adam Beckerson.

Adam Beckerson is a changed man. He’s made a successful career for himself and his best friend, Tara, hasn’t left his side. She gets him– the real him that he’s never shown anyone, but there’s still something missing.

Each one of them is beautifully flawed, and in one another they can find perfection, if only they are willing to reshape their shattered dreams into new, better ones.

“I hope you don’t mind. I changed our plans a bit. I figured we couldn’t go into the city with the pups, and I know it’s a bit too cold for the ocean, but I figured we could go to the Cape. Maybe have a game of volleyball, and eat the last lobster rolls of the season. Just meander the coast.”
The piece of waffle went heavy, sticking in my throat as I swallowed.
The Cape.
The last time I’d been there, Adam and Bobby had fought, and Tara had come away with a concussion. My ears rang, and I could feel the blood drain from my face. West slowly put his paper cup down.
“Are you okay?” he asked, concern showing in the way his eyes flickered over mine.
I closed my eyes, inhaling through my nose. “The last time I went…”
“It was with them?” West filled in the blank, and his voice went hard at the edges. I opened my eyes to see him leaning against the kitchen island, his tattoos flattening against his arms.
“Yeah, there was a big fight. Tara ended up going to the hospital,” I replied, and West’s eyes widened. “Accidentally. Bobby pushed Adam, and he went into Tara. She hit the volleyball net’s post.”
West looked ahead, his tongue running over the inside of his cheek before he turned to look at me. His green eyes twinkled with a new enthusiasm. “So we fix it.”
“Fix what?” I asked, looking at the once tasty breakfast that was now getting cold.
“Bad memories. We’re going to make new good ones to replace them,” West replied before nodding to our breakfast. “Starting with the general birthday suckage and moving onto specifics like the Cape. When was the last time you played volleyball?”
I swallowed, and West gave a knowing nod before playing with his waffles. His voice was deep as he continued, “Ate a lobster roll?”
This time his eyes rose to mine.
“He ruined a lot of things for you, didn’t he?”
“The lobster roll wasn’t a bad memory,” I replied, and he took an angry bite of his waffle, smearing whip cream across his cheek.
“I’m going to make it better,” he said through his full mouth.
I laughed leaning up and kissing away the cream. “I’m sure you will.”
One of his eyebrows rose. “Eat up, Missy. I have an ex-boyfriend to show up.”
I laughed at that, taking a bite of the fantastic waffles and the strawberries we’d grown together. The crop had been so plentiful that half the freezer in West’s house was filled with them, and there were another two bags in my freezer. The waffles beat Adam’s perfectly gooey in the middle pancakes because they symbolized West and I. Something different. Something sweet and that we made together. Like he intrinsically knew that breakfast food like this would be the start of a perfect day.
“You’re already winning,” I said, popping the last strawberry in my mouth.
“And how is that?” West asked as he took my plate to put it in the dishwasher. I bit my lip at the way his ass looked perfect in his jeans.
He turned, and I signaled with my finger for him to lean over the island to me. I kissed him once slowly, and then pulled away, pressing our foreheads together.

“By being you.”

~*~ My Review ~*~

What a great end to a great series.

River is forging a new life with West by her side. When her past come barrelling back into her new life, can she face it and learn that love can come to us in many shapes and forms. Neither is any less important, but some can take our hearts by storm, make us realise that we simply can’t live without it for one moment or the length of one breath.

Your heart can be the most terrifying and bone-chilling thing that you can ever listen to in your life. It will reveal things to you that you never wanted to be true and can never truly understand, but the beautiful thing about love and life that is that it doesn’t have to make sense or be something that is comfortable for it to be true or exactly what you need.

The story line is well paced and the characters genuine. Their relationships are sometimes simple, but more often then not they are complex.

A story of strength, and unwavering love. It has all the feels, and I loved every second of reading it, from beginning to end.

Cassandra doesn’t remember a time when she wasn’t writing. In fact, the first time she was published was when she was seven years old and won a contest to be published in an American Girl Doll novel. Since then Cassandra has written more novels than she can count and put just as many in the circular bin. Her personal goal with her writing is to show the reader the character’s stories through their dialogue and actions instead of just telling the reader what is happening. Besides being a writer, Cassandra is a professional photographer known for her automotive, nature and architectural shots. She is happily married to the man of her dreams and they live in the rolling hills of New England with their dogs, Bubski and Kanga.

~*~ New Release & Review ~*~ Awakened By Power (Empire of Angels #3) by Zoey Ellis

“I love you, Thea,” he whispered. “I will always love you, even if you don’t love me. Remember? I am yours.”

Awakened by Power is the third book in the Empire of Angels series, a paranormal alpha angel romance series. If you’re a fan of alpha heroes, powerful heroines, gritty paranormal worlds and destined mates, start with the first book, Claimed By Power.

About the end: This book is the final book in Cam and Thea’s story and it has a HEA.

Passionate, sexual scenes and strong language included. Not suitable for readers under 18.

My Review:

Perfect ending to Cam and Thea’s story.

I was once again blown away by the world that Zoey Ellis took me through and the feelings that she evoked in me with her writing

Thea isn’t doing so well as she heals from the accident.

Alone and plagued with constant headaches, she has no idea what has come of her mate or their commander. All she knows is that she feels abandoned and confused.

Cam faces the battle of a lifetime. Not only does he have to save himself, but he has to save Thea. He just hopes he can gain Thea’s forgiveness first and that his absence won’t negatively affect her due to their bond.

The angels aren’t the only ones that are attacking. Demons are coming to take what Cam treasures the most.

In this instalment, we get to see the repercussions of Cam’s behaviour.

Spending so much time away from Thea only made it worse and his only hope was to finally connect to the stream and hope the Creator would be forgiving after what he had done.

This book was everything I could dream for in a finale of the story of Thea and Cam.

It was beautiful and surprising

Needed to escape.

As the pain abated, and the risk of passing out faded, the world drifted back together with the feel of hands on his forearms, restraining him.

Hands that held him firmly, but didn’t belong to the jaguar.

Talon opened his eyes and looked at the delicate hands on him, touching his bare flesh, stained with his blood. Not strong hands. Not immortal and unyielding, able to break his bones if he tried to escape.

They were tender, their touch comforting, their grip meant to restrain him with their gentle understanding and not force.

He lifted his eyes to meet blue ones.

The mortal.

She crouched before him, close to him, so close he could feel her heat and her scent rolled over him, sweet like honey and vanilla. Gods, he wanted to drown in that smell, wanted to roll in it and cover himself in it, to rub against her so he would smell of only her.

And she would smell of him.

A touch of colour darkened her cheeks, but she didn’t release him and didn’t move to distance herself.

She stood her ground, noble and courageous, determined to bend him to her will.

“Iolanthe won’t hurt you,” she whispered softly, her voice a gentle breeze that carried away his fear and his panic, and part of his pain, sedating him and easing his tiger side. That part of him settled, the desire to fight and flee fading as he looked into her eyes and let her words wash over him. She glanced at the elf. “Will you, Io?”

He looked there too, in time to see the elf nod.

“I’m no traitor… and I don’t have a clue what he’s blathering about. Is he delusional?”

The female had a way of insulting people with barely a handful of words that he had never encountered in his three hundred plus years.

The jaguar standing guard beside her slid her a look, rolled his eyes and sighed in a way that said he had given up trying to iron out this particular wrinkle in her personality and was just going to roll with it now.

“Elves work with Archangel now,” Talon muttered, and didn’t fight the human as she helped him back into a sitting position with his shoulders resting against the front of the bar.

The elf shrugged. “I know. My brother spent some time there with the prince.”

Talon’s guard went back up so fast it made him dizzy, the sudden spike in adrenaline sending strength surging through him and rousing his tiger instincts, bringing them back to the fore.

She spoke of the two guests.

She knew them.

She was in league with them.

“You mean me harm,” he barked and pushed the human away from him, launched a hand up to grab the rail around the bar above his head, and hauled himself onto his feet. He growled at the elf, his fangs punching long from his gums and fur rushing over his shoulders and arms as he called on more of his strength. His tiger instincts roared it was a trap. “You mean to hand me over to your brother and your brother will hand me to Archangel… and return me to the nightmare.”

A wave of dizziness, stronger than before, crashed over him and his knees buckled.

The little human caught him under his arms and steadied him, and he froze with his back pressing against the cold brass bar and her firm body warming his front.

Talon gazed down at her, awareness of the world around him washing away again.

Gods, she was achingly beautiful.

“It won’t happen.” Her soft voice offered the comfort he needed, soothing the raging beast inside him, placating it and subduing him with a speed that left him shaken.

What power did this female have over him?

It was dangerous.

He was dangerous.

As much as he wanted her, as deeply as he needed her, he couldn’t have her.

~*~

My Review:

This time around, we have a tiger shifter who hasn’t had an easy time and a mortal woman who’s smack dab in the middle of all the immortal craziness. That said, she’s still mortal and that puts her in a dangerous situation.

Talon and Sherry have this sizzling chemistry from the get go, two souls that call to each other

They are sent on a path of discovery, unravelling hidden secrets.

A love that is Eternal and every lasting .

Heaton gives us a world filled with elves, demons, shifters, and much more. I love the Eternal Mates series. This series just keeps getting better and better as it goes. I absolutely love the different characters and learning each of their stories.

It’s great when there’s crossovers with previous characters.
If you haven’t started the series you don’t need to to enjoy this book.

My Review:
So this is my first time reading anything by SK Ryder, although this is the 2nd book in this series I was told that I could read this without reading the first one
I got a good sense of the main characters Dominic, Cassidy , Serge and Jackson.
I had an issue with getting into this story which is unusual for me.
Maybe it was because I hadn’t read the first one, who knows, I did find at times it seemed be too drawn out, anywho here is my review:
Dominic Marchant is a vampire and in love with Cassidy Chandler
He seems to be fighting to keep his humanity, Cassidy seems to keep him grounded
but it looks like he might need to make a choice; his humanity or his Cassidy!
The decisions made come with great consequences, and many are heavy and often involve life or death, or both even.
It was a good story full of love, hope, darkness and blood.

My Review:

Firstly I would like to give the lovely author a HUGE thank you for kindly providing me with a copy of “Ruined By Power” to read and review.

Since the first book both Thea & Cam have come along way in terms of their relationship and trust issues, will they be able to survive further turmoil, misconceptions, interfering & personal demons…..

Thea embarks on honing her skills and developing them more and more each day whilst being in the Angel Realm, waiting for Cam to have his meeting with the Thrones to determine their future, to determine whether they can truly mate one another, to determine whether Thea is actually a Nephilim

Cam hasn’t felt this way in a very long time, he’s frightened he may do something wrong, something to push Thea away from him when he’s only just got her back on his side, what will happen when an urgent mission takes him away from her weeks at a time?

I will pre-warn you though there is a cliffhanger at the end….one that may/may not have guessed….AND we have to wait until AUGUST to find out what happens next!!!!!

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.
Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.
Boy, was I wrong.
Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.
Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.
But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.
Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

My Review:

Firstly I want to give a HUGE thanks to the lovely Meghan for kindly providing me with a copy of “My Best Friends Ex”
I absolutely FLOVED this book, heartbreaking at times, gut wrenching even…
I really enjoyed Emma. She’s smart, sassy and a bit raunchy and I loved that about her.
And then there’s Tucker. Fucking Tucker.
The man stole my heart.
His past has made him alone and hurting and he has the oh so sexy brooding feeling to him.
Until Emma comes along and slowly turns him into the man that we all fall for.
My Best Friend’s Ex is hilarious, witty, sassy and fun.
It also has a bit of angst that tightly binds everything into one amazing package.
The banter back and forth between Emma and Tucker, Emma and her friends and Tucker and Racer is so fun and they had me rolling most of the time.
Meghan’s writing has got to be some of the best in the business.
She writes relatable characters that have deep feelings and are in realistic situations.
Romance readers- if your looking for a book that will make you laugh-out-loud and completely touch your heart this is the book you need! I promise, you will not be disappointed.
If you’re new to the author, I think you will become addicted to her novels, I know I am.

About the Author:
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.
Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

Troian is no stranger to heartbreak and feeling less than she is. Her brother Zaiden is the only person who even cares about her. When Zaiden comes by for a visit, he sees the shape she is in. Bruises covering her face, few scars marring her once perfect complexion, she feels like she doesn’t matter.

Drug Addict. Wannabe Musician. Rich kid.

Cade Stephens has heard it all before. He has a bad reputation and he doesn’t care much about what others think about him. He had a give no shit type of attitude, but secretly wants more. He wants to have a reason to continue living sober, a reason to not always feel so alone in his own head.
People have always judged Cade on the way he dresses, the tattoos that cover his arms, and the piercings in his lip. They may make up the image of him, but his music is what truly drives him. Music makes him feel alive, or as alive as he can possibly feel anymore.

~*~

My Review:

Firstly I would like to thank the lovely Hollis Canon for kindly reaching out to me as a new & up ‘n’ coming author and kindly providing me with a copy of “The Revival” to read and review.
This was such a great story, it was raw, the back story to Troian was gripping, she lived such a hard & horrible life, that is of course until her older brother, her hero stepped in and took her away from it all.
Its hard an upsetting knowing that this kind of bullying happens in this day & age, and what hurts more is that the majority of “humans” won’t involve themselves, to help, protect or save someone who’s in a bad situation at that time, I’d like to think that if I ever saw something so horrific happening that I would step in to help if/hen the time was needed.
I do hope that we get to see more from these, maybe in the second one (if there is on) we get to see the backstory to Cade, the deep, dark & bad secret that he’s hiding from everyone.
Revival is a story of surviving and living in the moment, not letting anyone or anything come in-between your happiness, even if it means kicking out family.
I love this debut novel by Canon, I believe the best is still to come, I can only imagine what happens next
