Bloodmark (Bloodmark Saga #1)

Sixteen-year-old werewolf princess Ashling Boru is different from other wolves—she was able to shift to wolf form at birth. Rather than bringing pride to her family, it brings fear, and as a result, she is forced to live in seclusion in Ireland’s countryside. Ashling’s reputation is further blackened when she refuses her betrothed and defies the ancient laws. When her pack’s oldest rivals begin hunting her, she finds herself in the small town of York Harbor, Maine—far from everything she’s ever known.

In Maine, she crosses paths with the dark and rebellious Grey Donavan, and something ignites within her soul. There’s just one problem: Grey is human. Their instant connection turns into a passionate romance, and Ashling begins to believe she can create her own life outside of wolf laws. When she begins to uncover long-buried pack secrets—secrets that threaten to destroy all she holds dear—Ashling’s courage and tenacity are tested. Will she choose her deep and enduring love for Grey, or will she follow Old Mother’s path to her destiny?

My Review:
Well first and foremost and I would like to kindly thank the lovely author & NetGalley for kindly giving me the chance to read this book and of course to write my review
The cover & blurb totally intrigued me, this would be my first time reading anything by Whittet but I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t believe I’ve only just found her work….have I been hiding under a rock or something?
Ashling is the main character who is born into a royal werewolf family, but there is more than meets the eye here, as we later find out further along in the book.
A wild and exciting adventure begins which you can’t turn the pages fast enough.
Every page draws you in deeper and deeper into the depths of the different packs
Ashling’s feelings are easily felt by the reader as she goes through events that happen that are naturally beyond her control. You can feel her frustrations as her family continues to leave her in this dark about the truth of her birth.
After leaving the protection of her fathers kingdom, Ashling crosses paths with the dark and rebellious Grey Donavan, and something ignites within her soul.
There’s just one problem: Grey is human.
Although I found that there were some typos in the story and a quick “insta-love” this didn’t deter me from finishing this enthralling and addictive novel. I thirst for more as it would seem.deter
I loved the paranormal side of “Bloodmark” as well as the alternate realities between the ancient Celtic werewolf culture and the modern-day high-school culture – both were written well.
Forbidden love
And Betrayal
What more does a good book need?
The fast-growing romance between Ashling and Grey quickly made Bloodmark an undeniable page-turner.
