~*~ New Release & Review ~*~ The Donor By Nikki Rae

The Donor (The Donor #1)

This is a serial novella that will be told in parts about the length of a short story (20-30 pages)
Blurb:Casey Williams and her family are poor. Her parents work non-stop and so does she, just so they can keep the trailer roof from leaking. They’re getting by fine enough when the headaches start. Then there’s the nosebleeds. And the inevitable medical bills.

Fortunately for Casey, there’s MyTrueMatch.com: an exclusive, quick, and almost easy way to pay it all back before her parents even have to know.

All she has to do is give a man she’s never met whatever he wants from her body.

Inside or out.

My Review:
The Donor (Part 1) by Nikki Rae is the first part of a serial novella. It is very short but leaves you wanting more, more, more!Casey Williams is 18 years old and lives in a run down trailer with her parents. Her father had a serious accident so every penny goes to paying his medical bills.
It’s amazing what people will do when they have nothing left to lose and that definitely seems to be the case for Casey when she joins an unusual online match site.
I think that the slow reveal of information gives the reader a lot of time to come up with their own conclusions. But when you get the answers, don’t be surprised if you are wrong 😉
I can’t wait for part two! I’m so curious what will happen with Casey and Jonah!

The Donor (The Donor #2)

This is a serial novella that will be told in parts about the length of a short story (20-30 pages)
When Casey joined MYTrueMatch.com, she never imagined she would meet a man who not only helps her pay the bills, but has been nothing but a gentleman. As the nose bleeds make way for worse symptoms, Casey can’t help the feelings she has for Jonah, despite how he may never return them. And he’s been keeping things from her. Big things. How does he make his money, and who is that girl in the picture?
With the clock ticking, can she find the answers she’s looking for?
My Review:
Picking up from where Part one left off, we are faced with the true nature of Casey’s choices…
Nikki deals with the very real and difficult decisions her characters have to make, while allowing us to get to know them better. I love how you really get in close with the characters and you can see where they both come from. At the same time, you also get to understand where they’re both coming from.
It is an intensely emotional ride, even considering the short page length.
The suspense and foreboding that constantly fills Casey and Jonah’s story keeps me on the edge of my seat with not knowing what will come next. I very much look forward to the conclusion of this story and for me part three can’t come fast enough!
This is definitely a story that will stay with me for a long, long while.

The Donor (Part Three)

This is a serial novella that will be told in parts about the length of a short story (20-30 pages)
Casey may have not known what was in store for her when she met Jonah Black on MyTrueMatch.com, but now that she’s with him, life has become even more unexpected. She’s discovered someone else in the picture and now she cannot figure out how she fits into the puzzle.Convinced that he doesn’t need her, Casey is torn between giving up and doing whatever it takes to help her family. But Jonah, it turns out, needs her more than she knows.Time is something neither of them have.
Can they hold each other together as the clock runs out?

I soooooo wasn’t expecting that. It’s not the job of the author to please the each and every reader but to please the wills and needs of the characters. In the end, this was a tragically beautiful ending to a compelling and heart-wrenchingly story.

Things just aren’t as they seem right? Who is this high class looking hooker that is all over Jonah? And where did all of Casey’s things go? She found a sanctuary before she died isn’t that what we all hope for? I think so. And it was going to be seemingly ripped away from her

Both Casey and Jonah have been dealt tough hands in life. Neither of their futures turning out the way that they might have anticipated. But fate brought them together because they needed each other. They met at a time in their lives when they needed each other most.

It’s like there is 2 story paths running, alternating in sections. We would read part from the present, then flip to an event that happened in the past, then back to the present again. It helped to draw out the final moments of this book. Just when it got to the part where everyones fate was decided, it would flip back in time. I was practically biting my nails off wondering what was happening.

The ending is what left me struggling for ages. I wasn’t sure what I felt. I wanted to think it was the best way for it to end. But, i’m still a little torn…

It was definitely a shocker for me, but I feel a little sad still. I won’t say anymore, as I don’t want to spoil this for anyone who is yet to see, how this amazing novella series finishes. This book is awesome and definitely something completely unique and different. I’m so glad I got to read this!
