Blurb:

The gang is back and this time there is a wedding to celebrate, except that is the last thing on Molly Meyers’ mind. After losing her fiancé, Luke, two years ago, the last thing on her mind is helping her best friend, Jane Bradley, plan her wedding and celebrate the annoyingly, obnoxious, lovey-dovey relationship Jane has with Braves first baseman, Brady Matthews.

Austin Lee, rookie outfielder for the Braves finds himself in the middle of a blonde tornado known as Molly. When her fiancé died, he gave her space and time to heal but always admired her from a far. Never in a million years did he think he would be bedding his dream girl and planning a future with her starring as his leading lady.

Patty O’Neil, abuse victim and Jane’s friend, finds herself struggling to let any man back in her life. Marc Sullivan, Braves catcher and Brady’s best friend, wants to be that man in Patty’s life but is finding it awfully difficult to crack the wall Patty built around herself. Patty wants Marc as a friend but Marc wants more.

Lucy Reynolds, Austin’s best friend and Molly’s worst enemy never thought she would find the love of her life while sitting in a café, eating Greek food and reading her Kindle but she did. Connor Cartwright luckily came into her life and she couldn’t be happier. The only problem is…he is Luke’s brother, something Molly can’t seem to accept.

“Playing the Field” goes through the lives of the Hot-Lanta gang as they tangle a drama filled web together, screwing each other, lying to one another, and sabotaging each other’s lives. Follow their story as once again the drama unfolds, feelings are hurt, slaps are thrown and Hot-Mess Molly tries to make everyone just as unhappy and miserable as she is.

YOU DID NOT JUST EFFING DO THAT!

OMG!

After everything Molly & Austin have been through, and just after the last hurdle, YOU DO THIS!

OMFG!
Poor Winnie……such an adorable little girl and it’s such a shame, that Molly couldn’t bring herself to care or look after her properly, she clearly needs help
Sorry I just had to display my frustrations lol!
I loved Patty and Lucy, there were Jan’s rock throughout the wedding preparations even whilst all the shite that went down in their love lives, they still had each others back….TRUE friends!
I want me some Mr Connor Cartwright…..Handsome devil….dickish towards the end but hey ho.
I thought better of Austin and I’m still waiting for him to prove me wrong, he;’s on my naughty list I’m afraid, dickish move my son, dickish move….
Apart from that, LOVED the book, YET AGAIN!
Some out standing work going on here, can’t wait for #3…..there is a #3 right? Because you can’t just end it on that note…..seriously.
Harsh cliffhanger but worth the read.
There were a few typing errors, but that didn’t deter me from the storyline. It’s so gripping, and enduring. You go through all the emotions and feelings, as it’s in multiple P.O.V’s again – YAY

Blurb:

Things are starting to heat up in Atlanta, or at least in Jane’s celibate life of two years. On the two year anniversary of her nasty split between her and her ex, Jane’s friends, Molly – class “A” filthy mouth – and Albert – flamboyant dresser extraordinaire – decide it’s high time Jane drops the conservative persona, let loose and start to have some fun once again.

Brady Matthews, Atlanta Braves first baseman and well known through the media as Atlanta’s gigolo, thought he was just taking his new teammate, Michael Banks, out on the town. Little did he know Michael’s friend from college, Jane, was going to show up at their table and turn his world upside down.

When Brady meets Jane, he is instantly attracted to Jane’s innocence and inner sex kitten but the last thing she wants is to be thrown into another relationship with such a publicly known man-whore especially after her heart was broken so devastatingly. Brady makes it his mission to win Jane over and make her see him as the man he actually is, not the way the media perceives him. But it is not that simple. Wedding plans, spring training, ex’s, old college friends, the paparazzi and gossip magazines seem to keep getting in the way of Brady’s goal to earn Jane’s heart.

Caught Looking goes through the love lives of Jane, Brady and their group of friends fighting the hardships of cheating, trusting, losing love and trying to find it once again. In one of America’s hottest cities, the gang heats up the sheets while their lives entangle together causing heartache, suffering through loss and finding love….hopefully.

Author Bio:

When I was in high school I occasionally read books but was consumed by other teenage things so I didn’t take the time to appreciate a good book on a cloudy day, wrapped up in a blanket on the couch.

It wasn’t until I received a Kindle for Christmas one year that my world completely flipped upside down. When looking for books, I came across the Contemporary Romance genre and was sold and I haven’t turned back since.

You can either find my head buried in my Kindle, listening to inspiring heart ripping music or typing away on the computer twisting and turning the lives of my characters while driving my readers crazy with anticipation.

I am currently residing in beautiful Colorado Springs where the sun is always shining and there is a trail waiting to be hiked on every corner. I share a lovely and warm home with the love of my life and my five, four-legged children.

Excerpt

Carefully, so not to wake Haven, he slipped from underneath her and climbed out of bed. He tiptoed across the room to the window and pulled some slats of the blinds apart to look out into the night. It was nearing three in the morning, the sky pitch black and the city quiet. Carmine surveyed the street, looking for any sign of trouble, and tensed when his eyes fell upon a car out front.

A vaguely familiar looking dark Chevy Camaro.

He stepped back from the window and gave Haven a quick glance before heading out of the room. Instinct took over, every move calm and calculating. He found his pants and pulled them on before grabbing his gun downstairs. He made sure it was loaded as he quietly slipped out the back door. He headed around the house and came up behind the Camaro, eyeing the license plate.

The moment he saw the letters JK, his adrenaline kicked into overdrive.

Staying in the shadows, he watched the car for a bit. The man was alone with the driver’s side window down, his attention focused away from Carmine’s house. Every time headlights flashed nearby he would watch them like a hawk until they passed. He was waiting for something, but Carmine wasn’t sure what until a set of headlights shined their way. The man ducked as a black Mercedes sped by them before swinging into a driveway about a block away.

Corrado.

Carmine wasn’t sure what to do, torn between reacting and alerting Corrado, but he didn’t get much time to consider his options. The driver’s side door swung open and the guy climbed out, keeping his head down as he started down the block. Without even thinking Carmine followed him, dodging streetlights while trying to keep up with his pace. The man slowed when he neared Corrado’s house, staring at it peculiarly like he was trying to assess how to get inside. The living room light was on and Carmine could see shadows, Celia’s laughter faintly filtering out of a cracked window.

The man ducked beside Corrado’s house and Carmine hesitated, taking a deep breath and clutching his gun before darting behind him. The invader had almost made it to their backyard when he heard Carmine’s footsteps. He swung around, alarmed by the presence, but it was already too late.

Carmine slammed him into the side of the house, shoving his gun against his temple. “If you move, I’ll blow your fucking head off.”

He cursed and shook as Carmine patted him down, frantically pulling everything out of the guy’s pockets. He found a gun in his coat and made sure the safety was on before sticking it in his waistband.

Grabbing the man’s wallet, Carmine flipped it open and yanked out his driver’s license. “Oisin Quinn. What kinda name is that?”

“Don’t hurt me,” he begged. “I’m not looking for trouble!”

“Bullshit,” Carmine spat. “You don’t lurk around this neighborhood with a gun if you aren’t looking for trouble.”

“I swear it’s a mistake!”

“What is?”

“This!”

“What the fuck is this?” Carmine asked, pulling him away from the house and shoving him into the backyard. He stumbled but caught himself before he fell, and hesitated for a second before he took off sprinting through the yard.

For a brief moment, Carmine remained frozen in utter disbelief. He had just let go of the guy. How fucking stupid could he be?

Adrenaline kicked in again. Carmine aimed with his finger on the trigger, a hair away from pulling it, but lowered the gun and took off after him instead. Carmine managed to catch him, tackling him in the grass at the edge of the yard. Panicked, the man swung, trying to fight Carmine off, and his fist connected with the right side of his jaw. Pain ripped through his cheek, sending him over the edge.

If he wanted a fight, Carmine was going to give him one.

He pulled his arm back that clutched the gun, slamming him straight in the face with it. A lifetime worth of aggression came pounding from his fists, disappointment and anger, shame and heartbreak. Carmine didn’t know the man, but that mattered not—he took his pain out on him, battering him with pent up hostility he needed to let go of.

After he was beat down, Carmine pulled him across the yard and forced him on his knees right outside Corrado’s back door.

“Stay there, motherfucker,” he spat, giving him a swift kick in the side out of frustration. His jaw ached and he was out of breath, blood splattered on his hands.

“I’m certainly glad you decided not to shoot him.”

The voice caught Carmine off guard. He looked up, seeing Corrado standing motionless at the back door, watching them. “Fuck, how long have you been there?”

“Long enough.”

“And you couldn’t help me?” he spat, annoyed he had just watched.

“You seemed to have it handled,” he said. “Besides, it was quite entertaining.”

Carmine glared at him. “Entertaining? There’s nothing entertaining about this!”

“I disagree.”

“Well, you’re wrong,” Carmine said, reaching into his waistband for the guy’s gun. He cursed yet again when he came up empty-handed and glanced around, realizing it had fallen out during their scuffle. He found it a few feet away and picked it up, handing it to Corrado when he stepped outside. “He could’ve killed me.”

Corrado laughed dryly. “You’re exaggerating. You had him, no problem.”

“You couldn’t have fucking known that.”

“Yes, I could. He didn’t do his homework if he parked in front of your house.”

“How do you . . . ?” Carmine stopped, narrowing his eyes when it struck him. “Wait, you knew he was there?”

“Of course I did,” he replied. “He wasn’t sly, Carmine. Even you noticed him.”

“Son of a bitch,” he grumbled, aggravated. “I did all of that for nothing?”

“I wouldn’t say it was for nothing,” Corrado replied, smiling with amusement. “Like I said, it was entertaining.”

From the New York Times & USA Today bestselling author who brought you the Nice Girl to Love trilogy, comes A Nice GUY to Love spin-off…

Brian Sullivan has been in love twice in his lifetime. He lost his first love to early-onset Huntington’s, and he lost the other more recently…to his brother. And somehow, his heart has managed to heal itself after both. Amazingly, without therapy. That doesn’t mean Brian hasn’t gotten more wary along the way, however. In fact, he’s been thinking lately that maybe his brother’s now retired nothing-but-flings rule isn’t such a bad idea. Unfortunately, being the nice guy poster boy and all, he isn’t exactly versed in the fine art of flings. So he looks to the outrageously ‘unique,’ provokingly button-pushing Tessa Daniels for a crash course.

There’s absolutely no way he’s falling in love with this one…right?

Tessa has no idea what she was thinking telling Brian that she was some sort of fling expert. She’s never been flung before and she sure as heck doesn’t know where or how to begin flinging a guy like Brian. It was a temporary lapse in sanity, really—no doubt because of the can’t-help-but-fall-for-him brain fuzz that hits her whenever he’s around. Not only does the man have her being more herself than she’s ever been in her life, but he’s the only person she knows who seems to have as many demons and skeletons in the closet as she does. What’s more, he’s got her thinking of the one thing she stopped letting herself even hope for years ago.

A happily ever after.

My Review:

** Spoilers Maybe Present **

Denim and a sixpack

First off I want to thank the author for providing me with an ARC of this book to read and review for this blog tour ❤

Secondly this is the first book for me to read by this author, but let me tell you this it certainly won’t be the last.

Last but not least, please have your tissues at the ready.

This is such an emotional and heartfelt story.

From the first page to the last page I was in constant tears.

Tessa Daniels;

After loosing her family in ways no other can imagine Tessa has had a hard life. Loosing her sister, her best friend to the JHD (Juvenile Huntington’s Disease) opened my eyes. I’ve only heard little about this disease so reading this book opened my eyes. For those who don’t know what HD is let me tell you:

Huntington’s disease is an inherited disease of the brain that damages certain brain cells.

The disease damages some of the nerve cells in the brain, causing deterioration and gradual loss of function of these areas of the brain. This can affect movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgement) and behaviour.

Early symptoms can include personality changes, mood swings and unusual behaviour, although these are often overlooked and attributed to something else.

Huntington’s disease was originally called Huntington’s chorea, after the Greek word for dancing. This is because the associated involuntary movements of the condition can look like jerky dancing.

In the majority of cases, Huntington’s disease is caused by an inherited faulty gene. However, in around 3% of cases there is no family history of the disease.

Even after loosing her sister and her father Tessa feels like she no-longer has any family. Mother you say?

Well she left when Tessa was younger, couldn’t cope looking after a sick child, knowing that she would deteriorate and eventually not recognize her, Tessa’s mother, wanted out!

FTRG DC

Brian Sullivan;

After loosing his wife to HD Brian is going through all sorts of emotions, especially with a 50/50 percent chance that his daughter “Skylar” may have the same disease.

How much more pain and loss can a man take?

You’d think that he was being punished for something unbeknown to him.

First his wife and now is daughter…

So he decides to take a leap out of his brother’s “Connor’s” book and take a ride on the “Fling” side….oh and who better to get aquainted with other than the lovely pixie type girl TESSA.

I loved the lust and the sexual tension that brews throughout this book between Tessa & Brian

“It’s simply not reasonable to expect a girl to have a filter with all that steamy-eyes, bicep-popping, talking-like-a-wet-dream-voice-over madness going on!” ~ Tessa

“And it you don’t stop talking that one day is going to be today –  all your work deadlines bedamned. So for the love of God, stop pushing me before you sentence us to an even longer bout of hot, hard, take-you-six-ways-to-Sunday sex.” ~ Brian

Although there are trying times in this book and a few surprises that I didn’t see coming, this is definitely an eye opener and although yes, there is sort of a HEA, its still begs to question of, will it actually be “THE” HEA both Brian and Tessa so gracefully deserve?

Muscular Male Torso

Excerpt:

“Babe we can’t,” he somehow managed to punch out.  Voice gravelly, he drew his hands back to safer territory and said roughly, “You’re hurting and your emotions have gone through the wringer tonight.  I can’t take advantage of you like that.”

And yet still, he couldn’t bear to let her go completely.

“Then don’t,” she replied simply, arms twining around his shoulders.  “Let me take advantage of you.”

Jerking back to put some head-clearing distance between them was about as painful as ripping off his own skin.

“Sweetheart, why don’t we just hang out tonight?  We can sit and talk more about those dickheads we ran into tonight if it’ll help, or we could just watch a movie…anything you want to do.”

He quickly snatched her wandering hands as they traveled down his lats and started tugging at the hem of his t-shirt.  “Anything except that,” he groaned.  “Work with me here, woman.”  Raggedly, he put his forehead against hers and counted to ten to try and find the tattered remains of his restraint.

The thought almost made him laugh.  Who was he kidding?  He had no restraint when it came to Tessa.  By the fifth second, his lips had already found their way back to hers.

And goddammit if her whole body didn’t just tremble right there in his arms.

She was just so mind-wreckingly responsive.  As usual, without even trying, she was driving him batshit crazy.

Tapping into a reserve even he didn’t know he had, he broke off the kiss and took another step away from her.

Then he watched in sad disbelief as her expression became completely shuttered a half an instant later—closing him out behind the walls of a now ten-story castle and a moat filled with fire-breathing piranhas.

The lightning quick response time of her defenses was a punch to his gut, a tragic reminder of how much she’d been through, how hard she’d had to fight to not let it all destroy her.

“Look Brian, if you don’t want to, you can just tell me you know.  I just thought we had something and we could have a great night exploring it.  But hey, I’m a big girl; you don’t have to make excuses to let me down easy…”

He gave her a look that said he wondered about her IQ before grabbing her hand and dragging it over the zipper of his jeans.  “Does that feel like I don’t want to?”

Her eyes widened, and her grip closed tight around him.

Bourbon soaked shards of glass went hissing down his throat.  “For chrissakes, stop.”  The blood supply in his brain was dipping down to a dangerous low.

And the damn temptress was clearly all torn up about it.  He glared at the smile she was biting back.  “I’m glad you find this so amusing.”

“It’s not amusement, it’s relief.  Here I was thinking it was just me getting affected with my perpetually wet panties around you and all.”

A seriously pained groan escaped him then.  “To preserve my sanity—and your panties—don’t use the word wet in any more sentences tonight.”

She sighed.  “I really don’t know why you’re making such a big deal out of this.  It’s just sex.  I’m not looking for anything serious.  You heard Gavin earlier this evening.  Being the ‘good girl’ was never exactly my thing.”  She brushed up against the hardening ridge tenting his jeans to drive home her point.

With a muttered curse, he clamped one arm around her waist and tangled his free hand in her hair.  “Sweetheart, this thing between us is a big deal,” he said roughly, tugging gently on her hair and nearly losing it when she arched her back in response.  Her fitted tee was so paper-frickin’-thin.  One sharp yank was all it’d take to rip it right down the middle.

Jesus Christ, he needed to find some control.

“Whether this thing between us lasts one night or ten, when, and yes I said when we have sex, I’ll make damn sure that every single second of it seeps into your bones, burns into your memory, and turns into a relentless craving that makes you forget all the assholes from your past.”  He ran his lips along the thrumming pulse at her throat.

“And if I’m really lucky, it’ll also help ruin you for all other men completely.”
